« You Will Always Cherish The Sea » (Toujours tu chériras la mer) – titre extrait d’un verset du poème de Baudelaire L’homme et la mer – présente la vision subjective d’un homme (Guy Dennis) en train de nager dans la Manche. C’est un travail qui parle de la relation entre l’homme et la nature, mais aussi de la mer comme une barrière pas seulement physique, mais aussi politique. Un hommage à tous ceux qui défient la mer en nom de la liberté.

The video « You will always cherish the sea » (title taken from a line from Baudelaire’s poem L’homme et la mer) presents the subjective view of a man swimming the English Channel. The film speaks of the relationship between man and nature, but also of the sea as a barrier – not only physical but political. Guy Dennis plays the representative swimmer. A tribute to those who challenge the sea for the sake of freedom.

Il titolo « You Will Always Cherish The Sea » (Avrai sempre a cuore il mare) è stato estratto da un verso del poema di C. Budelaire « L’uomo e il mare ». Il video presenta la visione in soggettiva di un uomo che nuota nel Canale della Manica. É un lavoro che parla della relazione tra l’essere umano e la natura ma anche del mare come barriera sia fisica che politica. Lo stretto della Manica, così come il Mar Mediterraneo, sono luoghi dove annegano spesso le speranze di una terra promessa. In « You Will Always Cherish The Sea » la costa è presente come assenza, chimera imprescindibile dell’atto di nuotare in mare aperto senza soluzione di continuità. Un omaggio a tutti coloro che sfidano il mare in nome della libertà.
