The prophetesses are wonderful gifts of the heaven! I say it again, because that’s what I think each time that, under the pretext of come back to life the prophetess Pordis, making my film, I meet another amazing woman. Here Maria Osp, art teacher at the school of Skagastrond, young single mom, as many women in Iceland, where this is a common thing and doesn’t represent any discriminating factor. Now I know that It’s true that the women, here in Iceland, live a better life than elsewhere, thanks to an open mind by all, thanks to the absence of a macho culture, thanks to a good welfare, and thanks to a series of laws passed by the women who occurred in the Icelandic parliament in the recent years. Here being a feminist is normal, not something derogatory, and it is not a coincidence that at the head of the country there is the first lesbian in the world. This is a country for everyone, women, children, youth, gays and all people of good will.

Le profetesse sono meravigliosi regali del cielo! Io lo dico ancora, perchè è quello che mi capita di pensare ogni volta che, con il pretesto di richiamare in vita la profetessa Pordis, girando il mio film, incontro un’altra donna straordinaria. Ecco Maria Osp, insegnante d’arte persso la scuola di Skagastrond, giovane mamma single come molte donne in Islanda, dove questa è una cosa comune e non rappresenta nessun fattore discriminante. Adesso so che è vero che le donne qui vivono una vita migliore che altrove, grazie a una mentalità aperta da parte di tutti, all’assenza di una cultura machista, a un buon welfare e grazie a una serie di leggi proposte e approvate in parlamento dalle donne che si sono succedute negli ultimi anni. Qui essere una femminista è normale, non qualcosa di dispregiativo, e non è una coincidenza che alla guida del paese ci sia la prima lesbica nel mondo. Questo è un paese per tutti, donne, bambini, gay e tutte le persone di buona volontà.
